A FLEXIBLE WAY OF WORKING

CREATING FLEXIBLE WORK OPTIONS

In 1990, when Facebook was not yet a thing and New Zealand was yet to greet its first female Prime Minister, professional women with young families had very little opportunity to progress their careers - unless they were prepared to work full time and permanent.

It was this waste of talent and skills (and cost to the nation), that Careering Options set out to change. We were early advocates for greater diversity, equity and inclusion in New Zealand workplaces.

We recognised the transferable skills women developed through parenting and in the community, clarified how work could fit with family responsibilities, and sourced contracts that aligned with their career aspirations.

Today our focus has broadened to encompass all professionals wanting flexibility and a balance between their personal life and careers. But our approach to understanding the whole person has never changed. We use our expertise to clarify people’s capability and aspirations and what they need to perform at their best.  Our ability to make the right match has made Careering Options the success it continues  to be today.
